MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

The Medical Office Assistant Diploma is designed to equip individuals with a strong foundation in Medical Terminology, EHR, Medical Billing, Medical Office Procedures, Clinical Procedures, and Medical Transcription. The hands-on practicum provides the students with the perfect opportunity to imbibe the skills and practices in the workplace, and concretize the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom.

* This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills

* This program is not eligible for the Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) program

Admission Requirements​

  1. Grade 12 or mature student status (minimum 19 years of age)

  2. Pass an interview with ULI admissions department.

  3. Completion of grades 9-11, including English 11 with a grade of ‘C’ or higher from a country where English is one of the principal languages, or

  4. Completion of 2 years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction, or

  5. Provide verified results, dated no more than two years before the start date of the program, for one of the English language proficiency tests listed below:

Courses may be modified or substituted as required to facilitate success in standardized testing or changes in standardized requirements. Alternate courses may be chosen to replace exempted course requirements based on experience and/or testing results.100 hours Exam Preparation may be included in total hours. There is voluntary additional support available with the instructor(s) at $50/hour. Course delivery subject to enrollment and may be altered.
